Hey, I’m Widny—writer, encourager, and woman of faith behind TheWidster.

I am Widny Lherisson

But you can call me Wid or Widster. I am of Haitian descent, born and raised (currently reside) in Miami, FL. One thing you'll quickly know about me is that I love God and am passionate about gathering like-minded women together to build a community that reflects God's kingdom (learn more about it here).

Why did I start blogging?

Welcome to my blog, where I share personal experiences and encourage women through vulnerability filtered through God's Word. In 2012, picking up a pen and a journal was one of God's many tools to activate my gift for creative writing, which allowed me to express the war that bombarded my mind and heart when I couldn't find the words to utter in prayer. By penning down every scene and character, hopes and dreams, weakness, and strength that often besiege my mind unless I release it on paper- and now through blogging.

In 2016, I launched thewidster.com at the lowest point in my life. During that time, God prompted me to share areas of my life that desperately needed redemption and healing because He knew as I surrendered, my life would never be the same again. Others needed to witness me outgrow and overcome that particular chapter of my life God was openly doing surgery in. To be transparent and vulnerable in areas that may make you and I feel as if we are alone is a sign of resilience, strength, and growth. I've learned over the years that giving God room in your life to develop and mature is an answered prayer to someone in need of seeing that you've survived and gives them hope that they can too.

Through the bareness of my writing...

I intend to show how a merciful and loving God can still use a girl who thought her chapter ended when she found herself at the lowest she had ever been. I created this blog to remind women of one thing: You are capable and can start over from where you are.

“When you allow yourself wholeheartedly to embrace the newness that comes in the form of breaking the old version of yourself, you create room to see and enjoy the new thing God wants to do in your life.”
