FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED!

Heyyy sunshine!!

If you're new, welcome to my blog, where I share faith, lifestyle and tips/hacks to budget your coins. Sigh. and for those who have been rocking with me from the jump, I know what some of you might be thinking: "Girl, where have you been???" Chile. I had to ask myself the same question and thought this was an overdue hiatus from blogging. And here I am, picking up where I've left off a year and a half later. (blank stare)

Who can relate? When your break unintentionally happened to be longer than you ever expected. smh

I give myself some grace but also a strong rebuke for many reasons, which I will share later in this post. Nonetheless, I am very excited that my desire for writing again has been ignited because, for a while, I'd lost the passion for it and wondered if I'd ever pick up where I left off and advance further than before. During that time, I had even considered deleting my blog until a good friend said, "Girl, don't do that! leave it for when you're ready to come back to it." I thank God for using her to speak those simple words to me because here I am, picking up where I left off.

As time passed, God dealt with me concerning my poor stewardship of what was in my hand to win. We often attempt to figure out the next step, the next move of God in our life but have yet to obey the first set of instructions He gave.

Write your way out of this- write from your spirit!

  • What was the tool/weapon God placed in your hand when you were at your lowest— on the brink of throwing in the towel?

  • What was the tool/weapon God placed in your hand that is an answer to your generation- a solution to someone's problem in proximity to you?

  • What did God place in your hand to uproot and build for His Kingdom?

In 2012, picking up a pen and a journal was one of God's ways to activate my gift for writing, which allowed me to express the war that bombarded my mind and heart when I couldn't find the words to utter in prayer. By penning down every thought that did not align with God's truth, scene and character, hopes and dreams, weakness, and strength that often besiege my mind unless I release it all on paper- and eventually on a blog. Before the idea of a blog ever entered my mind, when I was a new believer in Christ, I wrestled intensely with my flesh wanting to take me out daily (till this day, but as you mature in the things of God, you fight differently). It was as if an alarm sounded off in hell (which it did) that another soul had given their life to Christ. I will share more in dept of my testimony in another blog post. But during this time, as a young woman in my early 20s who was new to the faith, not having enough WORD in me to sustain me when certain hits would come, I'd found myself bottling up every emotion of anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, jealousy, and a tight grip of perversion, lust, and confusion that was dormant but surfaced. My flesh and spirit were constantly at war; therefore, I felt the weight of it, and because trusting God in the unknown was new to me at the time, I carried an unnecessarily heavy burden when Jesus offered His easy yoke and burden that is light (Matthew 11:28-30)  which is accessible for my taking. Still, like many of us, we don't take it.

So I began to write as He did heart surgery on me.

God cannot get glory from an unfinished assignment.

Going back to my point, God redirected me to what He'd placed in my hand as a warning-the assignment given to me was unfinished; it's incomplete! You'll never see the manifestation of the promises when you don't fully obey to the end!

When I launched thewidster.com in 2016, God prompted me to share areas of my life that were broken and yet, being mended as I held onto Him. Why? Because there's power in your voice; sharing your story to tell HIS! (Revelation 12:11). Your sound is so distinctive that it draws the people who need to hear what you have to convey. It's true what they say, you may not be for everyone, but everyone is meant for somebody who carries the answer to their problems. But you have an enemy whose mission is to muzzle your voice and keep you from using what was placed in your hand. Many of us can attest to what I am about to say; God will give you the tool to rise from your place of darkness. But are we FULLY listening and yielding to His instructions? And the answer to this for some is no.

Use the tool God placed in your hand to WIN!

The truth is, life will always be life'n, but the tool/ weapon God placed in your hand should never be left inactive, dormant, or inoperative. I am reminded of the story of Moses. When God called Moses and instructed him to free the people of Israel, he had a rod in his hand (exodus 4:2). A rod? Yesss! And this was the same rod Moses used to perform miracles.

What was the last thing God told you to do that was left inactive along the way? What was the vision and dream God gave you, but life happened, beat it out of you, and now it's left untouched? Who are the people you're called to set free? What instructions were given to you to win in life? GO BACK! Pick up where you left off and WIN WITH IT!

Finish what you started.

xoxo,

Widster
